Delaware Valley Floral Group (DVFG) has announced the opening of a new Sales & Distribution Center in the Richmond, Virginia area. The new facility is located just east of Richmond in Sandston, Virginia, in the Woodland Business Center at 510 Eastpark Court.

Delaware Valley Floral Group (DVFG) has announced the opening of a new Sales & Distribution Center in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania. The new facility is located just north of Pittsburgh in the Cranberry Commerce Center, at 322 Commerce Park Drive, Cranberry Township, PA, 16066.

The Delaware Valley Floral Group, Inc. (DVFG) has acquired the assets of two branch locations from Cleveland Plant & Flower Company (CPF), through an asset purchase agreement completed on December 7, 2015. The branch locations acquired are located in Binghamton, New York, and Syracuse, New York. With corporate headquarters in Parma, Ohio, CPF is one of the largest wholesale floral products distributors in the USA and operates through 8 locations in 4 states. The Binghamton and Syracuse locations will be consolidated into DVFlora, a division of DVFG.

The Delaware Valley Floral Group (DVFG) has announced the addition of two new outside directors to its Board. Both individuals were selected by a Nominating Committee consisting of Directors and Shareholders. The Shareholders elected the new Directors based on their unique perspective and diverse backgrounds that align with DVFG's core values and future growth objectives.

The Delaware Valley Floral Group (DVFG) has reached an agreement to acquire certain assets of Gallagher Floral Supply. Located in Plains, Pennsylvania, Gallagher Floral Supply is a 100+ year old company, which has been serving florists in the Northeastern Pennsylvania marketplace. The business will be consolidated into DVFlora, a division of DVFG.

 

The Delaware Valley Floral Group (DVFG) has acquired Montgomery Wholesale Florist, located in Northborough, Massachusetts. DVFG acquired certain assets of the company through an asset purchase agreement completed on November 14, 2014. Montgomery Wholesale Florist was formed in 1981 by the owners of the Montgomery Rose Company. Montgomery Wholesale has been serving professional florists in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. The business will be consolidated into DVFlora, a division of DVFG.

 

On December 10, 2013, Delaware Valley Floral Group (DVFG) has completed a Letter of Intent with Adam P. Zamis & Sons Wholesale Florist, located in Worcester, Massachusetts. DVFG will acquire certain assets of their company and complete the asset purchase agreement on December 16, 2013.  Zamis & Sons has been a leading wholesale florist in New England for over 70 years.  The business will be consolidated into Delaware Valley Wholesale Florist (DVFlora), a division of DVFG.

 
On February 18, 2013, Delaware Valley Floral Group (DVFG) announced the opening of a second Distribution Center within its New England sales region. The 8,000 square foot facility is located at 577 D Hartford Turnpike, in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. This newest Distribution Center is strategically located to maintain and improve service level commitments to DVFG's growing New England customer base, while also positioning capabilities to expand further geographically throughout the New England Region.
 
On July 9, 2012, Delaware Valley Floral Group (DVFG) completed a Letter of Intent with Way's Greenhouses Inc., located in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, to acquire certain assets of the their company. Although Ways started as a grower over 100 years ago, they transitioned their business to become a wholesaler florist in the mid-eighties. The business will be consolidated into Delaware Valley Wholesale Florist (DVWF), a division of DVFG.
 
September 19, 2011 - John Scott Wilkins, Vice President of Logistics for the Delaware Valley Floral Group (DVFG), announced that Randy Schenauer has joined the DVFG organization as the Vice President of the Flower Transfer Logistics (FTL) division. Wilkins stated: “Randy will be bringing his dynamic leadership style to a talented and experienced FTL team committed to excellence in logistics and distribution. An outstanding individual, Randy is well known for his practice of “Ownership & Passion” in everything he does.
 
June 27, 2011 - Jack Chidester, CEO of Delaware Valley Floral Group (DVFG), announced the promotion of Paul Fowle to the position of Vice President of Transflora-Miami. Chidester stated: “Paul will be joining a talented and committed team in Miami that is populated by winners who are passionate about the floral business. An outstanding individual, Paul will provide support and leadership for the Transflora Miami team.”
 
On October 18, 2010, Delaware Valley Floral Group (DVFG) completed an asset purchase agreement with McCreight Wholesale Florist, located in Washington Boro, Pennsylvania. The business will be consolidated into Delaware Valley Wholesale Florist (DVWF), a division of DVFG.
 
September 22, 2009 marks the 50th Anniversary of Delaware Valley Wholesale Florist. Known commonly throughout the floral industry as "Delaware Valley" or just "DV", the company is a division of the Delaware Valley Floral Group. In honor of the occasion, the company and all its employees, along with the Wilkins' family owners, will be celebrating with lunch, gifts, prizes, and annual employee service awards.
 
On May 26,2009, Delaware Valley Floral Group (DVFG) completed an asset purchase agreement with Nyren-Seagroatt Wholesale Florist, LLC, doing business as Seagroatt Wholesale Florist, located in Cromwell, Connecticut. The business will reopen on June 1, 2009, operating as a full service branch of Delaware Valley Wholesale Florist (DVWF), a division of DVFG. The purchase does not include Seagroatt Floral Company in Albany, NY. Many of the former managers and supervisors of Seagroatt Wholesale Florist will be joining DVWF. Doug Carey will be the General Manager of the Cromwell branch. Jerry Greenleaf will be the Manager of Procurement and Assistant Branch Manager. Also joining DVWF will be all of the former sales representatives, and most of the administrative, operations, and distribution teams.
 
The Delaware Valley Floral Group (DVFG), a leading US floral distributor, announced the sale of its Flower Transfer Handling division to Lynx Global Corporation (Lynx). Located in Miami, Florida, Flower Transfer Handling provides customs clearing, box handling, and a wide variety of logistical services to DVFG and other third party customers. Lynx will continue to provide services to DVFG and its other customers. George Ackler, who has been the Director of Operations & Logistics of Flower Transfer Handling for the past 13 years, will continue to manage the business as the President of Lynx Global. The sale becomes effective on May 16, 2009.
 
Delaware Valley Floral Group (DVFG) and Finlay Flowers (Finlays) are delighted to announce the establishment of a strategic alliance between FreshBlooms, DVFG’s mass market division, and Omniflora, Finlays’ US subsidiary supplying retail mass markets. The alliance provides DVFG/FreshBlooms the exclusive right to distribute Omniflora/Finlays Africa-Sourced product to all floral segments throughout North America.
 
Delaware Valley Floral Group (DVFG) has announced the appointment of John J. “Jack” Chidester as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Delaware Valley Floral Group. Mr. Chidester officially joined DVFG on Monday, July 21, 2008. John R. Wilkins, Chairman of DVFG, stated, “After conducting a search over the past three months, DVFG's Board of Directors believes it has chosen an excellent leader who will provide a new level of direction to the organization.”
 
On January 11, 2008 Delaware Valley Wholesale Florist purchased Wild Flowers Quality Wholesale Florist, Inc. in Linwood, Pennsylvania. Wild Flowers owners, Bill and Sue Wilds, have decided to retire after 31 years of operating their full service wholesale operation in the Philadelphia area. Ken Wilkins, President of Delaware Valley Wholesale stated, “this is a perfect fit for us and we feel fortunate that after much thought and consideration, Bill and Sue Wilds chose to sell their operation to Delaware Valley.” He continued, “both companies share a passion for quality flowers and supplies coupled with excellent customer service.”
 
In 1959, after years selling flowers to wholesalers in Philadelphia, Robert Wilkins and his wife Doris leased a small store in Pitman, New Jersey, where they ended up sharing one desk and an adding machine. An expansion in 1973 led them to settle in Sewell, New Jersey, where the company's corporate headquarters now moves millions of flowers, plants, and gourmet food items across an area south of Connecticut to northern Virginia and over to Washington, D.C. They have grown to add four other company locations in California, Miami, Baltimore, and Edison, New Jersey.

We buy from over 85 farms every week!”, he adds.
